Fines in Ukraine. The most common violations on rented cars.

Compliance with the rules of the road ensures safe driving and reduces the risk of a traffic accident. Despite the understandable reasons for careful driving, many drivers still neglect safety standards, and the number of violations and fines does not decrease.

Despite the fact that cars are rented by experienced drivers with at least 2 years of experience (this is a mandatory condition for renting), there are still cases of non-compliance with traffic rules. Unknowingly or intentionally, drivers endanger themselves by violating the rules of the road. We hope that this article will help you avoid common violations, and save money that you will not have to pay for paying off the fine.

The most common fines for traffic violations on rented cars

The company "Auto Arenda" has prepared a list of the most "popular" violations committed by drivers in rental cars.

  • Improper parking. Parking in places for people with disabilities, at pedestrian crossings and at public transport stops.
  • Stopping or parking in parking spaces for electric vehicles.

Photo and video recording of violations in Kyiv and the region

Violation recording cameras installed in Kyiv and other regions automatically photograph vehicles that have exceeded the permissible speed and register an administrative offense.

For speed violations recorded using such cameras, the following fines are provided:

Exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km/h – the amount of the fine will be UAH 340. Exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h – the amount of the fine will increase to UAH 1 700.

By the way, a Map of video recording cameras for violations in Ukraine has become available for Ukrainian drivers, where you can see the location of the cameras, as well as the speed limit in the area where the cameras are located.

"Phantom patrols" on the roads of Ukraine

On January 25, 2022, "phantom patrols" appeared on the roads - unmarked police cars that will monitor compliance with traffic rules. Cars have video cameras in front and behind, as well as speed control systems.

"Phantoms" can fix speed violations in automatic mode, without stopping the violator's car. After fixing the violation, the license plate is read and transmitted for verification in the databases, and after that the data is transferred directly to the automatic fixation system, where a decision on an administrative offense is formed.

This year, it is planned to purchase 30 special vehicles for patrolling roads.

Recommendations

Attentiveness. If you do not want to spoil your mood with unpleasant news about a traffic violation, then you should be as concentrated and attentive as possible on the road. Follow all road signs, pay attention to the area where you are going to park your car, do not rush to drive through the yellow traffic light, it is better to wait.

Responsibility. Understand the importance of obeying the rules on the road. After all, driving through a red light, you risk not only your health, but also the health of other road users. Think about whether your life is worth the few minutes saved.

Speed standards. Observe the speed limit for the city and beyond. Recall that in the city it is allowed to move at a speed of 50 km/h; outside the city, the allowed speed is 90-110 km/h, depending on whether there is a dividing strip on the road; on highways marked with the corresponding sign, you can drive 130 km/h.

Concentration. Avoid phone calls while driving, don't eat while driving, multitasking slows down your reaction time and dulls your attention, you may miss road signs, lane markings or run red lights.

Be careful on the road, follow the rules and take care of yourself. Have a nice trip!
